Terms of Use
Effective September 30, 2026 · Last updated September 30, 2026
By using Masjid.ly — the app, masjidly.app, or our share pages — you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and plain. Masjid.ly is run by Shaheer Saud in New Jersey (“we”, “us”). Questions: [email protected].
1. What Masjid.ly is
A free guide to events at New Jersey masjids and Muslim organizations, gathered into one feed. There are no accounts to create, no ads, no subscriptions and nothing for sale. We don't run the events — the masjids and organizations do.
2. Event information comes from organizers
- Every listing comes from something the organizer published — their website, calendar, newsletter, event page or Instagram post. The organizer is the source of truth for time, place, who it's for and any entry rules.
- We tidy titles and descriptions (with AI help, reviewed against the poster) so they're easy to read. We never invent a time: if the organizer didn't print one, we show their wording, like “After Isha”, and calendar exports become all-day events. “Read the original post” shows the organizer's own words.
- Events change and get cancelled, and we can get things wrong. Please check with the masjid before you travel. We aren't responsible for changes, cancellations, or what happens at an event.
- Listing an event isn't an endorsement of the organizer, speaker or content.
3. For masjids and organizers
Your posters, captions and event details stay yours. We show them to help the community find your programs, credited to you, with a link to the original wherever we have one. If you'd like a listing corrected or removed, or want to send us events directly, email [email protected] — ideally from your official address or account. We act within 7 days.
4. Invites and The Drop (free merch)
- It's a free thank-you, not a sale. Merch in The Drop is display-only. Nothing is sold in the app, and we'll never ask you to pay for it. Any price you see is crossed out — it's there to show what the piece is worth.
- How it unlocks: invite friends with your code. A friend counts once they've entered your code in the app and the app has opened on their phone. Link taps alone don't count. Following @masjid.ly on Instagram counts as one, once — on the honor system. Ten verified friends unlocks one free hoodie or tee.
- Share as widely as you like. There's no limit on how many people you invite. Each new person can be credited to one inviter — the first code they use.
- One free piece per invite code, while this run lasts. Sizes and colors depend on stock. We'll contact you to arrange pickup or delivery.
- At ten verified friends, requesting your piece opens a WhatsApp chat with the founder and emails him so he can check your invites before it's sent.
- Play fair. Inviting yourself, making fake installs, or gaming the count in any other way can void a claim. We may review any claim before we send a piece.
- The reward has no cash value and can't be exchanged. We may change or end the program at any time; if we do, claims already approved will still be honored.
5. Using Masjid.ly fairly
- Don't misuse the app, our website or our server: no scraping or bulk downloading, no automated requests, no attempts to break in or overload them.
- Don't send false event information, pretend to be a masjid or organization, or submit anything harmful, hateful or unlawful.
- Don't use Masjid.ly to harass anyone — other attendees, organizers or speakers.
- When you attend an event, follow the masjid's own guidelines.
We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
6. Noor and AI answers
Noor, the in-app guide, helps you find events. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong, so check event details before you rely on them. Noor doesn't give religious rulings (fatwa) — for those, please ask your local imam.
7. Notifications and links
Notifications are optional and you control them in the app. Masjid.ly links out to other services — masjid websites, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, maps and calendars. Those services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.
8. Your privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect and how to delete it. It's part of these terms.
9. Our name and design
The Masjid.ly name, logo, app design and code belong to us. Event content belongs to the organizers who published it. Please don't copy the app or present it as your own. Sharing events and invite links is exactly what they're for.
10. No warranty, and limits
Masjid.ly is a free community project, provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free or complete. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising from an event, an organizer, or information that turned out to be wrong. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
11. Apple
If you got Masjid.ly from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple isn't responsible for the app, its content or its support.
12. Changes, ending, and law
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for bigger changes we'll let you know in the app. Keeping on using Masjid.ly after a change means you accept it. You can stop using Masjid.ly any time — see Delete your data. These terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey, USA.
